    Asif Shah, DPM, MS, FACFAS, joined New Age Foot & Ankle Surgery in Richmond and Farmville, Virginia, in July 2003 after completing his residency program in primary medicine, plastic surgery, extensive forefoot, rear foot, and ankle surgery at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

    Dr. Shah earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester, New York, and received his podiatric degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida. 

    Dr. Shah’s continuing education includes application of external fixation, advanced application of internal and external fixations, ankle and foot arthroscopy, forefoot and rear foot reconstruction, reconstructive plastic surgery of the foot, advanced surgical techniques in ankle and foot trauma, diabetic wound care, and limb salvage. 

    Dr. Shah is a member of numerous renowned organizations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

    Dr. Shah is an avid scuba diver and is working to become a divemaster. Some of his favorite dives have taken him to the Cayman Islands, Barbados, and Mexico.

    Ehsan Khan, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist who offers advanced foot and ankle services at New Age Foot & Ankle Surgery with locations in Farmville and Richmond, Virginia. He received his undergraduate education from Virginia Tech, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering. Dr. Khan obtained his doctorate degree at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois, in 2015.

    Dr. Khan completed a three-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, serving as the chief resident in his final year. During his training, Dr. Khan developed excellent surgical skills while also becoming proficient in wound care, hospital inpatient care, and clinical outpatient care. He performed numerous surgeries, including total ankle replacement, bunion procedures, and plantar fascia release.

    Dr. Khan has attended many conferences and health screenings throughout his time in Chicago and during residency. He has been a member of multiple professional associations throughout his training, including the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

    Dr. Khan enjoys playing cricket, table tennis, badminton, exploring the outdoors, and cooking. He and his beautiful wife like to explore Richmond on the weekends. They are proud parents of two young children.
